Ever watch yourself shave?

No, I don't mean watch yourself in a mirror what I'm talking about is kind of like if you have ever had to give a report or speech and you were very nervous and basically you were on automatic and just listened to yourself either do a good job or make a fool of yourself.

In this case when you get to a point where you have the skills and are really comfortable and don't think that much about what you are doing as you wield a straight and so you kind of just watch yourself shave and then zowie, it happens, you nick yourself and you saw it happen and you think now why did I do that or use that stroke or that angle cause I knew that would happen and I saw it happening and I didn't stop myself from doing it.

Ya know what I mean here?

I would love to watch myself shave but the guy in the mirror is just too dang ugly.

ON Topic: I do this more often than I should, watch myself screw up, knowing that I am about to do so in advance and just keep stumblin' along.

Nope, never happened to me. I get a perfect BBS shave every time with no nicks or razor burn ever. Do really big slices count?

You mean like when your foot hits the brake & the accelerator at the same time & you press harder because you really need to stop.

Its funny you mention watching yourself shave. I did that very thing this morning! Its almost like "highway hypnosis", when you start from point A and get to point B, but dont remember consciously driving there, you just ended up there. Luckily when i watched myself today there were no cuts involved, just a smooth satisfying calm shave. i think i could best describe it as "razor zen", just became one with the blade and thats when i knew it wasnt a hobby anymore, but a part of my life. Sorry got kinda philosophical there, but yes i know exactly what you meant.
