My trip to London for my visa medical
well i am in the process of leaving london after getting my medical for my visa to move to the USA in the new year and of course the trip was made all the better for the patience of my wife allowing me to walk the streets looking for antique markets and of course...shaving equipment and necessary items.
I decided it was worth while going to harrods and discovered that they have...yes...you guessed it ...a man grooming salon, so I did what we all would do and made an appointment for a shave.
I returned there today and recieved my shave, I have pictures to share of course and sat there and got pampered.....need I say more.
Later today we hit Bond Street, and found NOTHING...BUGGER ALL...except the kind of stores that its safer to pass alone....lol:w
One recurring theme was the absence of price tags in these shops which means 'if you need to look then you cant afford it.
Anyway, I hit the internet to find the address of Taylors of Bond Street, and ofcourse they're not there, they're one street back in Jermyn Street, well I indulged and my wife bought soaps for Xmas pressies.
What a cool place ( pics will follow) all the stuff you know you can get there plus a salon.
Then as we wandered up Jermyn Street we came across Geo. Trumpers....bonus...again an awesome shop with salon too,with some real tasty hardware too...i just looked, this time.
What I noticed about Harrods, Taylors and Trumpers was the excellent selection of Dovo Razors, however, all 3 shops really only carried 5/8th sizes and only 1 or 2 6/8th's, the selection ranged from Inox to worked back with real fancy scales, I liked all of them and decided on a Bismark with combination scales.
They all carried Merkur razors of all sorts and brushes aplenty.
For those of you who get the chance to travel to London its well worth getting to Jermyn Street as its a male clothing , shoeing, and grooming street...a real cool place.:tu
Anyway I have pictures to post and I will write more later this week when I get home then I have more time to bore you all with my detailed account.
