When i hit 50 and came to the conclusion that my hair way all gray anyway, i cut mine. Hadn't cut it for 20 years. Some leave it long for life.

I’ll hit 56 in October. My beard has been grey a long time before my hair started turning.

I’ll second that. There was a rough decade in there for me too.
Just came across this photo from the 1980s, I'm out walking with my two Sons Liam and Jamie, and my two Nephews Nathan and Aaron, they are all in their mid-30s now with good jobs and families of their own, I walked the legs off those four when they were younger.
