I have gone through this thread and now feel the need to interject here gentleman. It saddens me so how my carbon steel brothers are so torn apart on this maddening subject. The meek who are afraid of an inert device that only causes pain when improperly used. The more independent who are steadfast in their use of said items. I mean.............can't we all just get along. Is there not enough room on this planet of ours for both parties. Can we not just learn to be harmonius with the can opener and not be so aggresive towards those who choose to open their beans with ease and those who choose to use a rock or just go without. What is your opinon on automatic can openers ?
Can't say I've ever used one but then I'm a bit of a luddite. I even shave with a straight razor . :p
The founding fathers would be horrified to see the citizenry having to eat canned food, especially with all the additives they put in it.
