Earcutter said it best. My sincere condolences.
A real tragedy. I know many Sikh here - the abuse they receive as a result of mistaken identity is truly shocking - I fear todays events may have been motivated by similar circumstances. Condolences.
It's wrong that they get crap from people mistaking them for muslims' and people shouldn't be getting crap for being muslim in the first place.
Growing up, a a lot of my friends have been muslim, some of them more devout than others and we might not agree on everything(for example if it's right or wrong to eat bacon) but most of them are good people who feel the same way about Jihadists as most of us feel about the WBC and it's just so stupid that good honest people receive abuse because of things that fundamentalists of their religon have done.

Thanks, I wanted to reply earlier but could not figure out a way to do so diplomatically but you have done so. Condolences to the victims and their families.

Really hoping the copper makes it as well...
My condolences go out to the victims' families. Hopefully the injured victims will pull through.
I totally agree. My heart and prayers with the victims and families.
Another sad tragedy.... Just sickening.
You have all said it well. Yet another sad day.
Great... it seems like it's another hate crime, sigh. A neo-Nazi ex-military no less.

What can you say?
Very sad, another example of the downfall of American society:(
Well, lets face it there has been a growing ground swell of anti Muslim sentiment in the Christian west since 911 and this is the despicable natural outcome in extreme cases. I would almost bet that in his own mind he was a fervent Christian to boot making it all the more distasteful. I am beginning to be extremely worried about religious extremists of any persuasion and their intolerance of others.

Another terrible event takes a toll on the innocent. At least Police Officers arrived quickly and did not hesitate to do their duty. I wish all the victims and their families the strength to carry on.
FBI says it is not a hate crime but rather an act of "domestic terrorism".
It absolutely pisses me off that the FED will use an act of hate against such wonderful and gracious people as the Sikhs to further their own agenda.
My heart goes out to families and the survivors.
I understand your anger over the Fed definition of the hate crime Wullie and I respect your feelings absolutely. I think the
current, often changing, definition of "domestic terrorism" fits this nightmare well. The sick individual who commited these these terrible acts did so against American citizens in an effort to rationalize some neo-nazi or white supremist views that he held.
These kinds of event are heart breaking at the very least.
sikhs are so peaceful. this sucks. i am a former soldier. i am upset by this.
Muslim Taliban, Judaic Taliban, Christian Taliban, they're all bad. Whatever our faith is, we need to focus on the preachings of tolerance in order to avoid getting to such a mindset.

I live 15 miles North of Yuba City CA, which has one of the largest Sikh communities in the USA. They, along with the Hindu community have lived around here for decades. Post 911 on a couple occasions I would hear people talking smack and comparing them to terrorists. Having been around them for years, it became instantly obvious to me that people were just ignorant of people not like themselves, and it's easy to pick on the Sikhs or Hindu's because they do stand out. They are great people, probably the last people I would ever worry about as a group. They sure know how to cook a goat too!!
