Pretty busy yesterday, not much time to mess around. Had a few minutes in Strawn, TX to grab some pics.
Abandoned old Bankhead Hotel & Apts. Somebody has refreshed the old sign.

No idea what this was. I'll try to find out next time I'm out that way.

Old Chevy truck

Another old building reverting back to its elements.

The backside of the competition to the famous Mary's Cafe. Mary's pretty much keeps Strawn on the map. Good grub. A former employee decided to strike out on her own and set up shop across the street from Mary's. Looks like the kitchen burned. Mary's has no more competition except for a kolache/burger joint.

Still trying to figure out what this place was in its heyday. Just N of town on SH16.
http://i658.photobucket.com/albums/u...ps77f5c24e.jpg
It looks more like a test cell for water boarding.
........you get caught taking pictures of it,, you might just find out what it is..
Maybe the price of board was too steep for the water out that way...
Mick
Crap...you found my vacation home.........so.......where'do you guys live ?? :w
The room right above the BA in BANKHEAD.

Wull.....you do realise your showing all these great place to squat when the Zombie Apocolypse happens. The inner cities won't be safe at all.
We really need a good zombie icon here.......Mods ???
Texas is closer than Michigan...when SHTF lemme know if ya need an extra boomstick I'll head that way and I'll bring some bacon and cast iron or is that castration...sorry,that one still kinda strikes me funny.:p
You'll know where to find him Steph. Just look for the puffs of smoke when you hear the sound of a big cal ball flying off somewhere. :)
Mick
Well ...I hear ya, but I suspect come Zombie time i'tll be more like the sound of a Garand or other goin off...n'less them be slow movin zombies movin about ........Yep,....sure could use a zombie moticon right now.
Reckon a pound of .44 ball and 630 grs of ffg loaded into my new toy should settle the hash of these pesky zombies?
I'd say that would take good care of the front two rows. :)
Good idea to have photos of your travels. Be nice to print them out at the end of each year and have a annual album as a remembrance.
I stopped and snapped a few while I was driving down a gravel road on the way to the sitter's house this morning.

It looks like either the effect of image processing or someone in front of you was really kicking up that gravel!
It was quite foggy this morning but the processing did add something to it.
Here are the before and after shots.

Been a pretty busy week. Been pushing three crews around and none of 'em in the same county. Lots of miles and not much time for pictures.
Here's a sample of the week for ya
Old log house on Puddin Valley Rd, Jack County, TX.

I wasn't kidding about the road name.

You've upgraded Wullie, from cemeteries to sunsets, beautiful.
I know where Puddin Valley Road is; it's just south of Shakey Puddin Drive.
Them be sunrises. :) Usually by sunset, I'm looking at it through the back window and I've got my mind set on gettin home.
I'm still doing cemetery pics too. ;)

Earlier this year we had the perigee moon.
Just what paramedics love... an extra big full moon.
This was taken from the top of an apartment building while my partner & the police were chatting to the nice lady...

Early morning drive round the waterfront heading for home.
Looking across the harbour to the city lights in the distance...

Back at base and having a play with longer exposures on night mode...
Definitely a pic of the road.

Is it always this beautiful & quiet in your city at night?
Pay no heed to them Willie. You drive whichever direction you like on them roundabouts. Everyone else does :)

Saw this fully restored 1912 Ford at the station. The fellow said he did all the work. It could be a kit for all I know, but I thought it was pretty cool.
