My wife likes watching when I shave. Is she watching cause it's so manly,or is it like NASCAR and she's waiting for the wreck!LOL:rofl2::popcorn:
Nope, my wife does not care about watching at all.
My kids on the other hand are quite fascinated by the whole process:)
Several times a week, they will join me in the shave den and lather up, shave with a dummy razor, and eagerly await getting some fine smelling product to finish it up:)
My wife doesn't care less either. If I was her I'd be completely smitten; I don't get it...
My wife doesn't watch per se... Most of the time she gently taps me so that I move out of her way so that she can get into a drawer I standing in front of. Sometimes she needs to use the mirror while she washes her face and such. Most of the watching is so that she doesn't bump me when I have the razor over my artery. Sometimes we shave together I shave my face and she shaves her legs. Other times the kids join me. My son really likes my Ogallala Bay Rum AS
My wife sort of shakes her head and moves on.
My oldest son enjoys watching and asking questions though.
No my missus, couldn't care less. My kids are now quite blase about it all (I hope I'm around when they see how mere mortals shave though :)). I think the wife has mentioned to the kids to stay out while I do shave though, so that I get my arse into gear and get it done so she can get some bathroom time as well. I swear that woman is pushing for five minute shaves, and that just ain't right...Why should my pleasurable shave be relegated to the same restrictions as our love life I ask ya?! It just ain't going to be that way! I put my foot down here and now! :)

My wife couldn't care less, well, other than the fact that I am shaving. She kinda requires a clean-shaven face. But other than that, I took over the guest bathroom and made it my shave den.
She rarely even sees me shave (unless she is coming over from the baby's room to show me the cute baby outfit that she chose for the day). Then I pull the razor away from my face and check out the clothes and give my approval and mention how endearing it makes our baby (which it always does), she goes back to finish feeding or playing with her, I finish shaving and that's that!
I am totally ok with that as the shaving is my time!
My last girlfriend hated to be around when I shaved. This was back in the Fusion days though. She said my beard sounding like sandpaper against wood when I shaved. She might like the near wedge and 1/4 ground though. I would love to see her cringe if she heard what the duck sounds like when I shave with it. :rofl2:
Oh yes, specially when....oh, sorry it was shaving we were talking about ;p
No, she don't care for the shaving at all, only the result, although she thinks it looks funny when I hold in my adam apple.
The kids on the other hand have a great time wathching me shave and my son often joins. He has his own brush, cream and a Turkish Shavette he uses.
She could care less.no more that I would want to watch her shave her legs.
My wife doesn't care at all. She just likes the results. Honestly can anyone blame her?
My wife has tried to watch, but she gets so nervous when I shave ATG on my neck that she leaves.
I don't have a wife, but if I did ,,, I would make her watch. :whipped:
Nope. I run her out of the bathroom when I shave. That's MY time.
Ultimately, everyone who's ever watched me shave has gotten bored.
The GF is rather fond of it. Particularly so with making the shaving cream from the soap and brush in a mug. She likes the smells, and her father did so when she was little so it is probably a link to childhood for her.
My wife has never watched me shave, but she sure likes to feel my smooth face afterward!
One side effect of my wife watching is that my son wanted to know what was going on.He'll be 15 in November and now wants me to show him how to shave with a blade he won't have to throw out.So it will be my honor to teach him what I know and give him the link to this forum where I learned. So now when I look at new/more hardware it's not all for me,and his mother is all for it!:beer1:
Wish i had a dad who could show me the ropes. My dad said i was crazy a couple months ago when i was home from school and mentioned i wanted to start straight shaving. BUT..i was home last weekend and had my setup to shave while i was home and he seemed interested..who knows, maybe itll be son teaching father
When my wife and I were living with her parents both my wife and her mother were scared of the sight of razor being applied to neck. The difference was that my wife didn't like to see any of it. But my mother in-law was waiting eagerly, at times even encouraging, a misshap.
My wife occasionally watches to see what blade I'm using
And I got her to take my avatar pic for SRP
My wife supports my hobby and seems mildly interested when I'm shaving. She doesn't like being anywhere near me when I am stropping. It scares her.
On another note, I took my hones with me on a trip to see my brother-in-law. He had a Dovo and a couple of his fathers straights that I touched up. He had given up on keeping them sharp and had dropped back to a feather. I got all 3 blades in shape.
We also discovered his Dad's barber's hone. I showed him how to use the hone and how to do a HHT with his own hair. Now he is a happy camper.
That's pretty awesome. I have a old fraternity brother living about two hours away and needless to say we usually swap advise on straight shaves when we hang out. He wants me to touch up his blade so he can watch and learn. I invited him to the forum but he's not big into forums.
Back to the topic at hand. I did answer before but I thought I would follow up with I have gotten the gambit of reactions from women finding out I use a straight. From terror that I will end up killing myself to joking to extreme intrigue. In any sense they all like the result: That smooth shave that most have never felt in their lives.
The only thing my wife says about my shaving is that I am obsessed with straight razors. Other than that, she could care less.
My wife loves to watch! She watches the Kardashians, Say Yes to the Dress, Four Weddings, Toddlers and Tiaras, Hoarders. Wait a minute, I'm starting to feel ill.
I lock the bathroom door so no one watched...I am not into taking chances like that..bathroom is way to small. I practice a bit with a very dull razor and my nine year old watched in complete silence so that it's pretty cool.. Nice look on his face when I do. I think he will give it a shot when it comes time.
My wife does not watch usually but she is thrilled that I now like to go into antique shops.
Not so much but she kinda wants to shave with a straight but shes scared of the inevitable. My 14 year old step daughter really ways to get her hands on my dovo. Any advice on how to teach her cause I cant exactly go in and show her.
