Armies at Standstill

London, Nov. 11, 10:56 a.m.—Marshal Foch, according to a French wireless dispatch received here, has notified the German commander-in-chief that hostilities in the front [will cease] as from November 11 at 6 o’clock a.m., Washington time.

The allied troops will not until further orders go beyond the line reached at that date and hour.

As I usually try to do on this date I had my 11-11-11 shave remembering the end of WW1.
Razor: from the USA, '04 Gillette Army Issue; Brush: Omega from Italy; Blade: RAPIRA from Russia; Preshave: Nivea from Greece; Soap: Pre de Provence from France; Bowl: Surabachi from Japan; Aftershave: Barbershop Bay Rum from the UK. (Know I missed some. I try Next yr.)
Very nice shave. The '04 is still my favorite razor.

Thanks post a pic or two of your shave of the day, it sounds nice and I have no idea what a '04 Gillette Army Issue looks like.

I think I might find a French razor for today's shave. :)

I tend to remember all the fallen on this Day of Remembrance. My grandfathers fought on opposite sides in WWI and my father and uncles were on opposite sides in WWII. There are probably a few lessons about war in there somewhere. Anyway, just a thought.

I'm afraid the only way the guns will stay silent is that every body will be too broke to buy ammo.

sadly i have to agree but unfortunatly its not guns we worry about now, now its ieds and other unmanned explosive that dont give a dam who they take out.
