No offense taken and judging from the ubiquitous Canadian license plates, your fellow Canadians are similarly fascinated by the escapades of we lowly Floridiots. Too much sun I guess, the recent python round up in the Everglades provided similar interaction between buffoons and errant creatures.

I'm generally a casual observer of the lunacy but must admit to occassional small gator, raccoon or armadillo encounters around Casa GI. Granted, monkey, kangaroo and pythons are quite a bit more unusual but like many places subject to sudden influx of people, we infringe on their habitat then act surprised when they stay where they've always been people or no. At least we've generally steered away from killing them and toward simply relocating the indigenous species to a more suitable location with more separation from people. I suspect the roo will be moved to a zoo or ranch in the area and probably will not face immediate deportation.
And then a week or so ago, this guy was hanging out looking for picanic baskets

I have to agree with Cangooner. Maybe it's because I live here and I'm more inclined to notice Florida datelines, but it seems like newspapers worldwide are topheavy with bizarre stories that originate on this peninsula. You don't see these whack-o stories coming out of Idaho, New Hampshire, or Iowa. I always thought California had cornered the market of the weird and wild, but Florida is certainly in contention and moving up fast!

Speaking of hunting pythons in Florida, this guy found a gold pendant with sapphires and diamonds while hunting pythons. I would say that is a good day of snake hunting.
Man hunting for pythons finds mysterious jewelry
A very old pendant that belonged to a plane crash victim. Hopefully he can identify the family it came from.
He said he is going to try and I hope he does, it belongs with the family of the victim. What are the chances you go out to go python hunting and you find something like that. He was meant to find that.
yes,,, I think so too.
