J.A. Henckels Zwillingswerk, 70 1/2, a re-re-storation

Helo there...

last week I decided to try and re-do my first restoration (J.A. Henckels Zwillingswerk, 70 1/2) and make it a bit better, firstly since I managed to get the right screws and make them work (which took me a bunch of nerves and time), and secondly I reduced the thickness of the doussie scales and padouk wedge (finished with 5-6 tung oil treatments), well have a look below

the wedge angle looks really good, as well as the centering of the blade. Should be proud of that one. Next you'll have to try your hand at peening!

:D :D :D , peening... Got brass wire 1,5 and 2 mm and SS washers from day one... got the hammer and made the spherical holes in the (polished part) of an anvil. I had some troubles but when I purchased a lighter hammer (3 oz I think) and with some reading here at SRP etc it went pretty well (for a noob) but I kind of like the screws more since you can (re)adjust the tightness of the pivot without peening (I like a bit tighter peening).. but will go down this road as well ..

glad someone else likes it but me (the work I mean)...

@Maciek: thanks, pics were actually made at 10 or 11 pm on the kitchen table with a table light since the camera was out (the belt was wet from the sweat from the shoot a few hours earlier and had to be dried :D .. didn't really felt like setting a setup for anything...

Nice job on getting rid of those bolts. I tried that and they used to drive me nuts, because they stuck out so far.. It was annoying.. So, I have have to go back and peen all my original work too..

cudarunner and I, we had an email correspondence when I was trying to find some info about getting the right screws, he helped me finding the right hammer for pinning and gave me many useful suggestions... thanks :)!
