Goldedge in Ebony

So I have been following 10pups restore thread (http://straightrazorpalace.com/works...es-reaper.html) and decided to use EVERYTHING he has been showing...

MANY MANY e-mails later I would like to THANK him for all the work he has done on putting together a FANTASTIC thread on EXACTLY how to do this.
I only had to figure out how to glue the inlays on because he has not got that far yet.

So here she is... 4 or 5 sets of scales later because fitting the inlays is a :cen!!!!
Domed washers (made by me) and all the hardware is brass.

edit: Wedge is Ebony also and it is finished in CA.

Sheesh...keep looking at this DD, the scales and the inlays look awesome, the whole razor looks like it just came out of the box! That is one of the nicest DD's I've ever seen. Makes me want to send you my Goldedge and get you to put some new scales on it - maybe then my Goldedge will like me and stop biting me every time I use it.

Really, that razor is hypnotizing me, trying to figure out how to get one of the shots of it as my background for my new phone!

It turned out pretty nice....

If you have a smartphone You SHOULD be able to just hold your finger on the image for a couple seconds and a pop up should appear asking if you want to save the image.

Thanks - have photo #1 and #2 stored, right now #2 is my background.

Will be fun to post tomorrow to see how many people notice....

Photo #2 the in-lay IS all there. It looks like it has a hole in the brass but it is a reflection....

Didn't notice the hole, just looks great on my phone...SWMBO just sighed when she saw it....said, "Really!?!"

The boy likes it though, he said it looks cool!

The Boy loves it though, he says it's really a man-phone now...which resulted in another sigh from the wife, at which point we both laughed and told her to stay out of it and just watch Coronation Street or whatever she's always watching....that one got the arms crossed and folded accompanied by the eye squint stare!!

Doming and Dapping set from Harbor Freight 25 Piece Doming Block and Punch Set

Put washer in smallest hole...use #1 punch and smack it... Pretty easy... :P

Yep 10pups is a GOOD GUY!

Great work! Ebony been used for high end tools and combine with brass is a winning combination, great choice. And like Tom said , definately better then original scales, Now Enjoy!

Shaved with this today.
Normal prep:
Shower, C.O. Bigelow and a couple drops of glycerin, Apply later, dry off from shower,strop, hot towel and wipe off later, re-apply later and shave.

HOLY COW! :tu

First off the razor feels PERFECT when stropping, the balance is SO NICE and it fits great in my hand.
Second I employed the beard reduction method since I did NOT shave for the entire month of November.
Third this got the benefit of my NANIWA SUPER STONE 12000 grit.

It was like a hot knife through butter!
Silky smooth shave that took off my whiskers like they were not even there.
My WTG pass had me at DFS status in no time.
The XTG pass left me with a BBS face.
Aftershave was Paul Sebastian that had ZERO sting. :D

This is my FAVORITE razor so far! :rock:

I guess all the work that went into it made it that much more enjoyable for me to shave with!

Awesome restore mate, you really did yourself proud there.
It inspires me to achieve a similar result with my Goldedge restore when I get to start on it.

Thank You Sir.. It came out pretty nice...

Great job.... getting the inlays to fit flush on the scales is difficult. I really like the razor!
