That is the total package: chopper blade with beautiful scales.

Sharptonn...sadly...I am already that guy. But...like the tortoise, the race doesn't always go to the hare. I already have a thread planned to show all the razors that I have worked on and restored all pinned up. Still trying to figure out how to duplicate some original collars for many of the blades...just trying to be as 'original' as possible IYKWIM.

    Thanks for the encouragement!

You are doing great. I am admittedly a 'one at a time' restorer. Hate having several going at once. I like to do what it takes to finish and move on. I do have several waiting for a few parts as well! So where do you get crocus for this? Nice finish!
I will help you with your pinning if you will help me with my crocus finish!

I get the "finish it all at once concept"...just haven't been able to put the 'concept' to work. LOL!!!

Crocus can be found just about anywhere: Google, Ace Hardware. a good Auto Supply house, machine shops, gunsmiths, etc. Just make sure you get the cloth back not the paper back. That way you can use it like a jewelers rouge cloth. It really works well as a final step, and I am really liking the effect.

It is looking real good now and a lot safer. Glad to see it coming together. I tell you guys, this thing is humungous. When your holding it, you think anchor without looking at the logo. And although I love the two tone look I am leaning towards satin all over. Tough call, but it doesn't matter, it is a fine piece either way. I am trying to design a mini 1/16 hp rivet gun so you can pin those things in short order without touching the scales. :<0)

I saw a bunch of it at Pep Boys today and they had everything but 800. What is with that grit anyway. Nothing in nature that size?

Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.
