The above sum it all up quite well. Great lines. Tight. I like it.
I simply cannot stop looking at this razor. It is all kinds of right. I know this is not a classic restore, and such products are very subjective - but you and I must have VERY similar tastes!
I love the texture of the micarta - did you make it? What was your fabric? Also, I love the way the aluminum spacer/wedge (I can't really tell from the photos which it is, although it appears to slightly wedge?) looks almost like it is white after being polished. It is unmistakably obvious the attention to detail you have, and used on this razor.
I am attempting to copy it with my own charcoal micarta from some cast off dress pants, and a wade and butcher I got over the winter - I even went and found some aluminum! They say imitation is the highest form of flattery, I only hope I can imitate nearly as well!
Very nice-I love the clean lines, simple and elegant with the black and silver. That Friodur is my kind of razor!
Yep, I still just keeping coming back here to look at the pictures of this razor. Stunning. Love it.
Also, update, I'm having, how would you say, TROUBLE trying to get my micarta smooth. Done CA, taken it back off (didn't like that you couldn't see the texture). Now I'm back to sanding the micarata and working on walking it up the grits. Wish me luck! Good thing the olympics are on at night while I sand!
Looks fantastic!
I have a 7/8 Frio that I picked up over a year ago from John which also had some ill-fitting scales.
I've been trying to decide what I want to replace them with - those scales look like it was made for that blade.
I am inspired to do some Micarta scales on a Friodur 451 that is headed my way. Once I see how the current scales look, I will decide. Nice looking scales on that 8/8!
