Man, this is about the third time I've seen this razor online, and cool to see one of the razors I have personally handled pass around :)

The pin hole looks a little mistreated.. Did you have to fill it out with some metal and drill a new hole???
Maybe there is a misunderstanding. My photo is to illustrate how difficult it can be working with this material. The scale is wasted. The OPs job is excellent.

That should mean that the rod would not fill out the hole in the razor properly.
