One Peice Scales Restore
This is my latest project, one piece scales which I seen a thread on here how to make. Made with a lot of sanding, coping saw and dremel. They are made out of mesquite wood, sealed with coconut oil, brass washers inside and out with brass rod. Thanks to information here I finally got the peening right without bending the brass rod. Tip was to choke up on hammer and hit it as though you were hitting your finger nail, no more pressure than that when you strike the rod. Great advise!

Nice job! I really like the shape of your scales. I love working with mequite; you may want to try using boiled linseed oil, (BLO), or Tung oil. Many nut oils will go rancid and stain woodworking projects, BLO brings out the reds in mesquite and looks great when buffed out.

One Peice Scales Restore
The scale shape reminds me of the magazine on an AK-47, and I mean that in a good way! Nice restore!
