Those little white flakes are one of my favorite parts. It give depth to the scales that most scales don't have. Instead of just looking like another set of black shiny scales they truly look unique. Again, great job!
I think it's great. Really love the look and the work looks excellent. Now start another one !
"..velvety sharp.."
Yes, that's the exact way I would describe a nice W&B blade, maybe it's just me, but that sums up the difference for me between new and vintage blades, at least IME, I seem to only get that feeling from my vintage blades, nothing like it.
Great job on the restore!!
I've had issues trying to take good close up pictures like that. Seems to amplify every findgerprint, fleck of dust, or minor scratch. I really like how your turned out and am wondering what you used for the washers on the pinning. I have two project W&B waiting for me, but I don't feel I'm up to the skill level rquired just yet.
They are just two sizes of SS Washers (I think 00 and 01, but I honestly don't remember and they didn't really come labeled). I think I picked them up at an Ace hardware that carries micro fasteners. I have found that some hardware stores carry them, and some don't. I have NOT found ANY big box stores that carry any, smaller mom & pop places seem like a better chance. I drilled a shallow hole in the side of a claw hammer the same size as the diameter of the washer. Then I used a punch to press the washer into the cavity so that it would take on the same shape. I think I found that on one of the articles on here, but I'm sorry I can't find again, maybe someone who remembers can post it? Here is a pic of mine:

Now that you have spelled it out for me, I do remember that being mentioned in other posts. It's nice to see that it turns out such a nice product. Well done!
Wow, Joel-And that's your 1st razor!? Beautiful job all the way around, and love that homemade micarta!
Just had to try to get a picture that captured her better:
