I like it! Original?
No. It was a mess when I got it. Broken scales that had shrunk enough that they were too small and a lot of rust. A lot of taping and sanding and a new set of scales and here we are.
Beautyful smiley blade.
What tipe of grind?
She is a wedge
I have an 6/8 wedge and I can honestly say it is the best shaver for me. The geometry of the blade plus the weight just cuts thru my beard like butter.
Speaking of weight with what did you balance the extra weight of the blade?
Heavier scales or metal spacer?
The scales are honey horn as were the originals. I got a little help establishing that this was in fact the shape of the original scales. I reused the original lead wedge. Thanks for the pinning compliment, it has taken me a lot of broken scales and bent pins pins to start to get it.
Congrats again for bringing this beauty back to a life of hard work :)
Nice job on the restore. Using horn was a good choice. Have you given it a shave yet?
