Default Wade & Butcher Special 6/8

This is another piece from my collection, a W&B Special, 6/8, full hollow. Estimated manufacture date: 1890-1910

Here it how the blade looked at the beginning of the process:

Now, it had some pitting on it if you see, and usually you wouldn't want pitting in your W&B... simply because the steel is a very hard steel, and well... Sandpaper doesn't really touch it. At least not without enormous patience...

Here it how it looks now.

Scales were not changed (by me) but I am pretty sure these are not the original scales.

Feels very different from other razors on the face. I couldn't exactly explain how..
Push it to the limit/Walk along the razor's edge/But don't look down, just keep your head/And you'll be finished !!!

yes, and not... I have another W&B that I use kind of regularly, but it behaves different. This one is btw the newest, and also a true hollow ground, not like other W&Bs (i have for example another W&B - photos coming soon - Barbers Notch, the Celebrated Extra Hollow Ground - very nice Razor indeed, but didn't have the time to test it yet. But "extra hollow ground" my a** ... It's a 1/2 hollow in best case )

I have another great sheffield shaver, a Taylor's Eye Witness, which yes, is newer as this W&B but behaves also different..

They kind of all have some character, but this really stands out

Yes, I quite enjoy my WB's, all a bit different, but like silk, the Greaves, Wosty's and other Sheffield blades all stand out as well....those are my favorites by far!
