Geneva Army & Navy cased pair

Finally finish the box restore. I was unable to come up with a black covering but the brown with the gold looks good. It's actually a leather textured paper but it sure looks real. The wood box was extremely fragile and had to be stripped and re-glued. I had some help from my wife at the fabric store. The 6/8 razors were pretty easy to clean up. Yes the latches had to come off. They were held on with small iron nails at .030 diameter. The ends were just bent over inside the covers. I filed the heads off and pushed them out with a small pin punch. I made new ones from brass that I had to anneal to bend them over . Found that out the hard why when the first one broke when bending. I formed the heads just like you would make pins for scales.
