Finially done..10/8 blacked out in 1095 w/ hamon, scaled in horn, & axis antler wedge

This is the largest razor I have done. It's life began about a year ago when I was invited to a mini-meet of craftsmen in Wichita, TX. I not only had a great time, I learned a lot too. In the short time there I was able to rough out this guy & heat treat it. After that, I started on the final grind at home & though it was there only to see that I needed to remove more material. This razor's journey has been an educational one for me. I have come to truly respect the masters who hollow grind thin razors with dry belts for sure. Wow... I'm impressed. Seems like it was an interesting and fun project.

Oh yes, I remember it well. spend an hour carefully grinding until you think it is as thin as anything.
Take it to the hones... daaaaaaamnn.... bevels so fat they deserved their own yo momma joke. Back to the grinder.

Of course, otherwise it would be useless. It removes lather well, you don't even know you are cutting whiskers...
