WADE (without Butcher)

Received yesterday and already at the workshop to restore this magnificent and rare WADE (without Butcher)

Manufacturing year between 1810 and 1818, he is in remarkable condition for a bicentennial.

Hunting and original riveting, he looks back although it remains to restore hunting, hunting horn imitation tortoiseshell, but I would be affirmative only when polished, who knows may be a nice surprise, but I doubt!

Beautiful! Scales are indeed dyed horn. I am a sucker for Wade razors. If it is indeed Robert/Jane Wade, the end date can be adjusted up to the late 1820s since razors seem to have been made under those names even after the association with W&S Butcher (I think, but Zak has waded much further into this than I have).

The restored behold, he is ready for sharpening!

Very cool. I know just how you feel. I had the opportunity to do one of these back in Oct. I'm curious. Some of these have a usually faded script on the spine saying Magnum Bono. Did yours happen to have it?

Apologies, but I can not translate, I think I understand that there might be an inscription on the back of the razor, if the question is the one, have not seen and can not be erased because the razor has no wear time!
