Suminagashi predator
The second razor I made from the suminagashi steel. This time I stuck with the predator design to see what I could do with the steel. I am happy with how it turned out. One thing with forging suminagashi is that it highlights your mistakes. I hot-cut the blank from the stock, and apparently I did that not hot enough so the metal foilded a bit. This is why one side of the blade, the core layer of white paper steel on the front side doesn't come out exactly as I planned.
Still, all in all I think it has a certain something. The kirinite on this one is called 'red devil'.

I should have gotten one of your blades early in your career...I like it Bruno. Little quirks like that one has helps me to know it's handmade. That's a very nice blade with many little things that make it so perfect. I have truly enjoyed seeing you grow from a skilled apprentice to a join the ranks of the few masters.
There are so many in the knife world now that are going with equipment that is programmed to give a finished result, so IMO the knife has no soul. I'm sure our little niche is soon to follow one day unfortunately.

Love the razor Bruno (would love to see someone make a razor out of that steel in your quote).
Thanks for sharing your work of art.
