Got this in a trade and decided to rescale it and clean up a little more pitting. I tried some file work and think it came out well. I really wanted to go collarless with the pins but couldn't get it to look right. Scales are horn and may be too thin (.069), I'm hoping if I keep them well hydrated with oil that they won't go too wavy.

Thanks, I put a lot of time into it, almost so much it was more of a relief to finish it instead of elation. This thing sure does shave though, unfortunately I think I turned a corner with my honing because blades I honed a while ago aren't near what the more recent edges are like.

Did you back the scales? The 4th photo looks like they are backed, but I think it is just the blade that gives that illusion.

Very nice, love the thin horn.
Once I got my 20k dialed in, I refinished my rotation. You just have to give them some laps on your finisher.
No backing. The wedge is brass. i annealed it to help with shaping as i did all the work with files.
I am playing with some ideas for doing some ultra thin horn (-.0625") with some sort of rib that would run the length of the scales.
Really nice looking blade and the scales fit the classic look perfectly. Good job!
