Picked this up the other day;

So just got done hand sanding for 5 days, making scales, applying in-lays, pinning and honing.
It looks like this:

My son asks to borrow a razor to shave today and I say "here is one I JUST finished...give this a try."
He come back 30 seconds later and says "Uh...Houston we have a problem, I dropped it in the sink and chipped it."
Here is his definition of a "CHIP";

Well the scales look so nice maybe search for another blade and take that shorty blade and make custom scales..

He didn't do it on purpose....I guess you have to look at it and laugh. No matter how old they are there still your little kids.
My daughter I gave her a old gillete razor not a fat boy, but the skinny version of one. When she brought it home her mother seen it and made her throw it away, telling her it was to dangerous to use.

i know that feeling just dropped my Filli Epbd 14 nos 2 days ago my best razor in my rotation and put a 2 plus mill chip in blade fortunately did not break a piece off but had to breadknife blade and start again shaved with it last night still fantastic shaver but not the same ever again left a hole in my heart

The way I really look at it, even during our banter, is that you were willing loan a razor to your son and pass on a great hobby.
He probably feels the worse because he gets to personally see the time and effort.
It's only one blade, a duck, but, there were many more destroyed for dumber reasons.
Put him on eBay to search for a replacement blade. Yall pick it out together. Show him how to finish a blade and pin it back into those scales!
A better bonding moment that my Dad wouldn't have done for me. He would just stop sharing.
