Cool 8/8 Macassar ebony Fairy Tail

    Hello everyone!

Here is a new razor I just finished, 8/8 O1 steel with macassar ebony scales.

This time I used screws instead of pins for the pivot, maybe its just me but I just can't get the pivots tight enough in certain woods and other materials. Because of this they get a bit loose after some use, and I don't like the idea that the new owner has to peen his new razor tighter if he likes the pivot really secure. So most likely I will use screws more than I used to, what do you think?

Ohh, and here are the pics, hope you like them!

Terrific work on the grind! Just looking at that point makes my cheek start to hurt
On a high end custom I prefer screws, but you will get quick division on that subject...

That is a beauty. The one that you made for me (Gentleman's Long Tail) is my best shaver, as well as the most beautiful razor that I own. I keep thinking that it's about time to order another. I also like pins over screws, and have had no trouble so far.

Very nice work, i can see some advantages with having a screw at the pivot, easy to take apart if ever you would need to clean that area. That said is there any play with the screw? I imagine at some point it would need to be tighten.

No play, but it needs tightening from now and then. Fortunately it takes about 5 seconds to do it, and it is fool proof, but you have to do it more frequently than with traditional pins.

I have bought from many places, 2-56 pivot screws can be bought from usaknifemaker, texasknife, jantz, alphaknife etc. Metric screws can be found on aliexpress and ebay, sometimes really good prices and really nice quality.
