Two 6/8" fullhollow ground in light horn scales

Hello,

I would like to present you two new razors I have recently made.

The first is a 6/8" fullhollow with satin finished hollow ground and polished outlines and tang. The scales and the wedge are made of horn:

The second is also a 6/8" fullhollow, but entirely mirrorpolished with forged serrations, a light spinework and a notch between heel and thumbnotch.

Very well done Ulrik. It is refreshing to see 6/8 full hollow customs and yours are certainly beautifully made.

Nicely done Ulrik! I didn't know you made full hollows, did you recently acquire a double wheel grinder?

Nice-looking bellies on both! It's great to see a custom razor manufacturer making full hollows.

@Badgister: I don´t know why, but it seems that no one has realized that we are making full hollows for a very long time ;-) But I don´t use a double wheel grinder, I grind it freehand side by side on the beltgrinder. A double wheel grinder would not work since all our blades are smiling and a double wheel grinder can only grind in a straight line.

Stunning bellied hollow, my favourite grind.

Not that it matters but what is the brand on both of these. I am new but I've seen that marking before, and for the life of me I can think of it..... driving me nuts!!!

Wow - a bellied grind...beautiful....I've wanted a bellied ground razor for awhile - none of my Palmera's have the reputed bellied grind...scales and polish are spectacular.

The elusive bellied hollow! I never knew anything about it until I seen your razors Ulrik! Actually I recently found someone claiming they made a double bellied, have u ever heard of that?

In rare cases like this I support socialism...Your wealth of beautiful razors should be redistributed to me, regardless of the fact that you made them via hard work and I have done nothing to deserve them.

I like the thick wedge end as well, looks better to me than thin wedges where the scales sort of come to a point.

fantastic job now for the big question how is the steel and temper how do they hold up?

AND... as I forgot to mention you have the grind down to perfection well done. Oh to be young and steady of hand again :bow

@Dafonz6987: I have never heard of a double bellied hollow ground, but it can be done. But I don´t think that it will improve the shaving quality.

@koonclan: The steels used are 1.3505 (bearing steel) for the 6/8" and 1.2210 (Silversteel) for the 8/8". Hardening and tempering is done singly or in very small batches in a digital controlled furnace. The final hardness is about 62hrc. Until now we had only positive feedback concerning edge holding ;-)
