Not often seen W.G. Wilton
On rare occasion I come across a razor by this maker. W. G. Wilton I assume he was a Sheffield maker but I have been unable to find any information on him. There are only a handful of examples of this maker here on SRP. All the blades I have seen have been large heavy wedges such as this. Most had a masonic etching which was just faintly visable in a couple of spots on the showface of this blade before restoration. Based on the blade style and the still developing tang I would date the razor 1830 -1840. A 7/8+ near wedge. The scales are black horn with brass beehive collars as found on the original scales. The wedge of course is lead. If anyone has information on this maker I would love to hear from you.
