Frederick Reynolds Restoration
It took me entirely too long, but I finally finished up a Frederick Reynolds that I've been puttering on (if only I didn't have a day job).
The scales and lead wedge are original. The scales had some kind of painted material on them that gave them the streaked, yellow tint (see before pics). They shined up nicely though.
The blade was hand sanded to a mirror finish all over and then a satin finish applied to the blade face. I wasn't able to get all of the pitting removed, but it leaves a little history on the razor too. Bevel set on Chosera 1K and then SS 3k, 5K, 8K, 12K progression for honing. Took a real nice edge like one would expect. Just a good, solid workhorse of a razor that was a pleasure to restore--enjoy gents!
