Nice! Those things are like old heavy-duty tractors! All the parts can usually be re-used after refurbishing. Job well-done!
Likely better than new! :tu
Oh yeah! These things will last many lifetimes. And they have a way of letting you know you’ve got something serious in your hand.
Thanks.
youve just increased its value by 500%! Great work as always :bow
Mr my carver, did you shine that bad boy
by hand or buff mechanically? Outstanding
To last for generations on!
MHW
Sanded all up to 600 where I stopped at that on the blade face. Kept sanding everything else that was to get polished ( top of spine, shaft, tail) up to 1200 and then it was 1 maybe 2 passes on the buffer to remove the 1200 scratches .
Not a believer in buffers. I use one as little as possible.
up to 600. But where did you start? 320 or lower? Very nice job for sure. I didn't think you could get all that black off.
My routine is starting ( of course it depends on the razor) at 220 for cruddy blades . I have another post with an Engels where I started higher.
Getting the black off? Sanding gets you there . It can and does remove everything.
How much time would you guestimate
Involved in that beautiful (bring-back)?
This AM? I just work till it’s right.
