Default Wm Greaves & Sons tapered blade

Wm. Greaves & Sons tapered blade near wedge. Both the blade and spine taper towards the toe. 7/8 tapering to 6/8. These balance a little different in the hand being lighter at the toe. The smaller toe makes it easier to get into those tight places and the smiling blade slices smoothly through the whiskers. The blade is a bit longer at 3 3/8 inches. Most tend to be closer to 3 inches. I think it was a great idea but never really caught on. Seems 1830's - 1850's and then the grind disappeared. This one is restored to its original brilliant crocus finish. The scales are exact copies of the originals in black horn with a lead wedge and brass pins and collars.

You seem to be able to bring such life back into those old blades. It would be great to see some step-be-step photos of your process.
