    Default Rescaled Double Arrow

This is the first time I have ever attempted anything to do with scales and pins, so please bear with me. It really is no big deal, but I promised another member, who was kind enough to give me some adjustable pins to try out, that I would post some pics.

I got a nice set of nearly 200 year old wooden scales from a rusted out Sheffield blade that came with an ebay buy. Cleaned the scales up, and grafted it on to a Double Arrow, which, as many have pointed out, is probably the most underrated blade you can get today. It really is an excellent shaver.

    Ray,
That looks great. I just shaved with one of my two double arrows and I have been very happy thus far with their performance. Mine are still in the crappy scales they came in which will do for now but I would love to rescale them at some point. How hard was it to do this and what sort of tools does one need for the job? If it were not for the gifted pins are they easy to find?

By the way, the 12k stone you sold me is working great and I have four razors in my shaving rotation that I have honed myself and finished on that stone.

    Thanks Ray,

    Good to hear that, Dave.

I am a newbie at this, so the hardest thing for me was filing the old pin without beating up the scales that I wanted to use. Most folks here would have done that in seconds!
