Restored Filly #14 Mine, Mine, Mine, all mine Muhahaha

I have been after one of these for awhile but they are either stupid expensive in this size or worn down to nothing...

I snagged this one off e-bay, the bidding wasn't to bad because of the rust on the etching (which I hate) and it was in Uruguay so it took a month to get here...

This is an 8/8+ #14 "Doble Temple" with ZERO hone wear, I polished it out and got rid of that gold wash and etch, and stopped at the stainless compound level on the wheels....
The scales are acrylic with brass hardware....

This one I made for myself today, I have been wanting one since I gave my #12 to my Brother in Law we shall see if I finally keep a personal razor over 6/8 size LOL

Now named the "Night Stalker"

Funny you should ask that exact question, as I just bought an 8/8 Friodur for myself also should be here at the end of the week... So I will be able to find that out...I am going to try out these two big blades for a few weeks and see if I can't get used to somthing over 6/8 in size...

I've been asking all week, whenever i've seen a Filly post & think the owner has likely tried a Friodur! I'd love to try a Filly. Just tell me it's rubbish in comparison, & save me some cash!

Ben I have honed plenty of the 7/8 and 8/8 Friodurs but a quick test shave does not a judgement make.... Now I will say that to get those Friodurs to shave smoothly takes a little extra doing.... The Filly jumped right to smooth as silk first shave off the hones....

I will post the Friodur after I customize it, thinking Black and Silver acrylics on it..... :p

Thank you! So its already colored like that, poured and all.
I haven't seen anything like that in germany yet. Only unicolor.

I have found that with my 7/8 scalloped back. The 5/8 No50 1/2 NOS ones i've honed have been a little more straightforward though.

Enjoy. They'll make an awesome pairing if you matched the scale shape!

Be very, very, careful there, watch the word in my description of the pen blanks.... "OVERSIZED".... Most of the pen blanks are 5 inches long, they will not work... you have to have the 6 inch ones for most of the razors out there.....
