7/8 Tillotson's Wedge Custom Restore in Ivory Acrylic

TIllotson's Co. Sheffield England 1830-1859 so this is an oldie.. This is the last of 4 Sheffield's that I restored over the last week or so... These all started in less than fantastic shape :) A Tillotson's Celebrated Wedge

It took some buffing with the grease-less compounds and polishing compound to get the the finish back to here.. I manged to keep the Eagle engraving on the face of the blade although it is a little muted...I had waited until I got in the new acrylics for some of these... I really tried to catch the light though the scales but basically the pics came out looking off white :rant:
They have goldish swirls though out also, they don't really look like Natural Ivory but they do have a nice look to them.... I used Nickel Silver pins and #0 SS washers for the hardware...

Another great resto!

It was cool that you could save the engraving, it looks very good together with the scales. Nice work!

I think I can get a sense of the gold swirling there in the first pic. Man, I'd love to see some of that up close...

Nice work glen.

Blades looks like it got the tumbler treatment? Great job cleaning up the blade and saving etching.

No I had to use the buffers on this one Ben the pitting was to much for the tumbler to handle...

I went light on the low grit stuff, and heavy on the higher grit stuff, it worked ok...
