Kreuz Schild with Purpleheart scales.
Well here it is, my very first attempt at a razor restoration, I got all 3 razors off ebay for $22, not a bad deal so far. I just need to hone and strop the Kreuz now to be shave ready, but it will shave now, just a bit of tugging.
Before pic all 3. Kreuz is the far right with black plastic scales.

Here's another shot of it, far right still.

One more... On it's own this time...

Here it is now after a few hours of buffing the blade with various compounds and felt and leather wheels on a dremel type tool, even more hours of hand cutting, shaping, chiselling and sanding dry & wet, the Purpleheart scales were complete and ready for assembly. (That PH is tough stuff... WOW! stropping my chisels every few strokes)
Pre assembly the scales were hand rubbed with rubbing compound and hand polished to a luxurious soft velvet shine with finishing wax. (Looks way better in person than pics.) Purpleheart wedge.
Using brass 5/8" 16ga nails as rivets, and the heads of 2 nails drilled out and off to make washers, the original blade washers were good. I assembled it for a total of about 13 hours labour.
Just needs a slight hone and good stropping and it will shave like a champ. It shaves my arm really well as-is, but won't pass any hair test.
A few more supplies and equipment, and I will be able to really kill these things..LOL.
I've been bitten bad by the beauty of the straight razor...:)

Restoration #2. H. Boker & co. King Of Whiskers.
Well, here's my second restoration of the ebay 3.
It's the center one in original pics.
H. Boker & Co. King Of Whiskers. I actually finished it a while ago, but never got around to posting it.
Birdseye maple scales, hand carved with Maple leaf relief. Filled with eurothane and clearcoated 4 coats. I haven't been able to shave with it yet as it needs more honing than the Kreuz. ( which I use every other day). It has the same pin configuration as the Kreuz, with purple heart wedge. One day I'll get my hands on a nice hone and be able to use all my resto's.
