Heck, ya'll got busy this weekend!!
love it!!
Sorry, CarrieM just informed me I forgot to post the SSA. Here it is.
The weather was good this weekend so we took advantage of it. Its nice to get out into the shop without freezing to death :)
you *forgot* this one.......
shame on you....
lol
Thanks for the feedback John. ;) It's been a long day and I still smell horn. :( LOL
yup, it's been a busy weekend for the boys. They did very well I think. I love the scales on the SSA and red really isn't one of my favorite colors.
Very Nice job!

Very nice indeed! I wouldn't turn down any one of them. Nice work!
Very Nice!! Beautiful work!!!
Totally digging the work, Joe! :tu Like that red one with the lines in it. Very cool.
Sweet looking razors. Good job,guys.
Oh yeah Brother those came out nice...
How was working with the acrylic vs horn besides the smell of course????
Yo brother! The horn had defects in the raw material so the cost is higher. The plastic moves around a bit more though. The smell form the horn stays with you a lot longer than anything else I've worked with yet. I also got some bone but didn't get much further than cutting it into blanks and some sanding. More stinky stuff! Both the horn and acrylic take a nice shine but the horn finishes up a bit faster for me.
All lookers Joed. Really like the deep purple on the Pipe :tu
Great work! Where'd you get that white pearl acrylic stuff from? I'm going crazy trying to find it in a useable size.
Really nice work!......Pipe my favorite!
Ronnie
I really like how you folks add a little contour to the scales. It looks very vintage and is a nice touch.
Thanks for noticing! That little contour is quit a bit of work, just ask Jr! I rough out the contour and Jr finishes them up by hand. He's come a long way and is really good at it now. CarrieM is also finishing them for us from time to time. That's when she isn't making bath soaps or shave creams or the other millions of things she does with or for us. Both of them are also my quality control department and a fine job they do there also. It's just GREAT having a family hobby.
Nice job guys!!!
Interesting weekend. Nice work Joe (and Jr.) :mexwave:
I think it's great that you have a family hobby. The razors came out great. Did you have to do anything to the razors or were they all corrosion free?
Thank you. It's been a while since we worked on these razors but I do recall the Pipe razor was the worst of the lot as the picture on page 1 shows. The others may have had just a light buffing to enhance the shine. After the buffers they needed to be honed. We were pleased with the results. This coming weekend we may do some more rescales if it's not too hot and muggy.
