Thanked: 5Thanks John
So a wonderful member here had a couple of slabs of blood wood that he wanted to trade for some microfasteners. I had purchased some when I first started making scales, so I happily sent him some and got the slabs yesterday. I looked through Russell's CA finish tutorial and figured I give it a shot.
I had recently found a Puma Silber (actually Mrs. Richmondesi found it and I got to buy it) that was in a set of painted wooden scales , so I figured this was a good opportunity for me to get this wonderful blade in something a bit more appropriate .
As you'll no doubt see I have some room for improvement, but I was pretty happy with the results .

Nice job Jim! The finish brought out the color of the wood beautifully. Well done.
(And thanks again for the fasteners - it was an absolute pleasure trading with you.)John

That looks better
The white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.
