Ok ok, so not as exciting at the title suggest, but here's a couple of balsa paddle strops I whipped up on the laser cutter that I'm fortunate enough to have access to.
Drawn up on Illustrator, cut from Kadumu ply, glued together and poly finished.
Laser cutters rock as you could probably well imagine, they can even raster photos and graphics onto stuff as I've done with my logo. ("TD")
The balsa area is 80mm x 250mm. The balsa slabs are housed in recessed cut-outs in the paddle so no glue or tape was used.
Not comparable in effort to the pattern welded steel custom I see freshly posted but I'm happy with how they came out none the less.
Now to get some CrOx and test them out!
Cheers!
