Introduced here in these poor pictures is my rescaled Torrey.
I would have liked to keep it original but the plastic scales were badly warped so i decided to make new scales of blond horn.
There was some blackening and light pitting on the blade, but i didn't want to make it too polished so i just gave a quick wipe with a mixture of oxalic acid/water to remove the blackening and finished it with Autosol metal polish.
Wedge, washers and pins are made of brass. Washers are only temporary and i will replace them with smaller washers as soon as i find these somewhere. Strangely i haven't been able to find small enough washers here, and ordering such simple everyday things as small washers from another side of the globe feels like a crime against my brains :D The washers i use now are removed from vintage small broken electronic motors and devices that almost always use brass washers.
This was also the first ever razor i honed from start to finish with a single stone, coticule, only. The idea of using single stone only was worth testing.
With coti it was slower than with synthetics, but once i had the bevel set rest went somewhat easy. When i got it done the edge felt like coming of synthetic 6K or 8K. Lastly stropped it with linen/leather and shaved. Shave was ok, but i still think if i should give it a little Chinese 12K (and breaking the idea of using single stone only).
Maybe not the beauty queen of razors, but this will be one of my everyday shavers.
