W&B Barbers Use 8/8 and black horn
This is one of those rare razors where everything came out perfectly... I had this really nice 8/8 in wenge scales that looked pretty drab so I took on a project to house it in something "special". I see the great stuff that is posted on this forum and wanted to try and compete within my skill level.
I left the horn scales a teeny bit thick to put in a rough cut angled 1/8 inch border. The center of the scales were flattened and sanded up to 1000 grit and buffed. I wanted to do something different with the wedge but I just got this wonderful blonde horn that looks like jade so I went with it. The front washers are sterling silver and look great.I was all set to use a torx screw for the pivot but it just looked like it would take away from the balance.
The blade fits perfectly and closes perfectly. I've been having bad luck lately with crooked blades but this one is great. The balance is great. I'm very satisfied with this one.
