8/8ths Wade & Butcher"For Barber's Use"Chopper in Green Acrylic
I've found a second Wade & Butcher"For Barber's Use" that I felt was ready for a restore. For this one the scales are green acrylic and they are fully contoured. The blade is more of a wedge and heavier than the last one.
Restoring a Wade & Butcher chopper was an eye opener. I thought that maybe it would shave like the large Fillies or the 8/8ths Friodur, but they don't. The razor is heavy, perhaps the heaviest production razor I have come across so far. The deep curve to the smile in the edge is more of a grin. I like the shave this razor gives. The weight of the razor gives it a real presents in the hand and being a wedge the shave is silent as the whiskers are squeegeed off your face. The deep smile allows the edge to get those whiskers that lurk on the sides of your neck and under the jaw line. Bottom line, I like the shave and I like this razor.
