The shell is not my particular taste, but man you did a great job of it. Beautiful work.
Do you dome those washers yourself?

Those scales are beautiful, I have come back to this thread to look at them a few times. The fit and finish looks perfect.

Love the scales! I just did a W&B in some of that red shell and really like it.
Thanks gents for the encouraging comments! Pleasantly surprised with the positive red comments. Personally, I like the black backing better. The red backing is acrylic, so it does have an advantage; it does polish out much better than the black. The black will always stay flat. It would be nice if it would also shine like the rest of the razor. These all have been sanded up to 12000 grit, then polished. Shell may be one of those love/hate, but I think its a nice way to add color to everyones collection.
No, those are gorgeously original on these blades. I got derailed due to that spine work. They really aren't much wider than a 'normal' spine. The first scales I made were much narrower than these finished ones. The spine art left an illusion that the razor was top heavy with those. I re-made them, and really like the proportions now

Yes. With doming/dapping kit. The Bokers were the 2nd to largest dapping hole with the 2nd to largest doming punch of my kit. just wanted to soften the edge of flat washer. The AIC(red) was at the opposite of that kit spectrum...maybe third to smallest punch. Also placed a small washer under the domed washers to help retain contour.
Beautiful restores DC. I'm a sucker for abalone and paua

Man. Walt, those are simply georgeous! Did you do the suspended gold yourself? Simply amazing work. I love them!! They all have different pins, and exude their own individual style. I would say a seven day set is in the making! Kudos:beer1:

The wedge was done with epoxy resin and gold flakes. I had residual slurry when I made these gold scales, so had poured some wedge material at that time.
Thanks for the mention.
