3 meisters + 1 mistress = 1 custom razor
This is a very special razor in a number of ways.
It started a few months ago when I saw a blade that I had to have. A Charlie Lewis frameback. That ended with a visit from the great Spazola 2 days later, where amongst other things, he presented me with this blade.
That in turn led to a visit a month later by Drac, a very talented knife maker and up and coming razor maker. Turns out Drac is Navy Reserves and has served 2 tours of duty on the USS Constitution, a still commissioned US warship. Amongst other things Drac gave me enough wood to make scales, that he had stabilized, that was from one of the masts of Old Ironsides. He got it during a refit. Now this was extra special to me because I am a buff on old wooden warships.
Of course all this led to a pairing of blade and scales. and without a doubt I felt some nice laser engraving was in order. Which leads us to my dear friend Paula who has done all my engraving for years...well the next thing I know Paula is apologizing all over herself. She felt soooo bad. She had triple etched hard and deep as I requsted. She was only 1 "s" short of perfection.
All I could do is smile. In some ways it adds to the razor as it brings the four of us together in one really nice razor.
Oh, And this baby really takes an edge!!!!
