WOW, looks good, love that wood. I just been polishing mine up by hand and watching the supper bowl. Looking nice.
So if you do have some pitting I gess you have to take the surrrounding materal down to the same level as the pitting to make smooth???????? Thanks, Samfin
And good to hear it shaves great, this will hurry my work along
Polish Pics
Thanks, just trying to set up my grinder for some good polishing. Started using a dremel polishing kit but just tooo samll.
Be careful with the grinder. They're a thin blade.
I'm kinda concerned about that shiny spot in the middle of the edge. Pitting ?
Yes about in the middle of the edge showing some pitting. How bad will that be??? The only spot on the razor.....
Well, it's in a really bad spot to have pitting ie the edge, so only honing will reveal the answer. Really should try setting a bevel before any restoring so as to assess the edge
Thanks, been reading up on this type of problem, can be major trouble. I gess the deph and the closenss to the edge of the pit could not allow a good bevel??
Can be a problem but you my be lucky too. See how it shapes up.
Thanks for all the info Keep you posted......
Dammmm it
Seems you cleaned all the rust out of it . Maybe it's not so deep :gl:
