Coochie Razor

This is my first full custom restore.
It's a cut down Clauss dressed up in acrylic.

The razor had a nasty chip in the toe, so I ground it down to a much shorter round point. I also knocked down the monkey-tail a bit. I figure if it is to actually be used as a coochie razor it should be short and not pointy anywhere. I buffed out all of the rust and took it to a matte finish, with some of the deeper pits still left in it. (for some reason my pictures make it look like there's rust or gunk in the stabilizers... There is none... It's very odd that it looks that way)

The wedge is lead, pins are brass, washers are domed brass.

I threw in a balance shot... I'm not sure what's ideal for a balance point; the lead wedge puts it just behind the tang pin.
I already honed it, and didn't have any trouble with honing or stropping due to the balance. The short length did take a little getting used to...

Looks good, I'm sure it'll make a great coochie.

I think it's called "Wood Pen Pro". It's one of the sites listed in the workshop stickies.

Very cool...looks just like it was original. I like that acryllic more everytime I see it used. Nice work!

Very nice. Makes me want to get one. Love the scales, but I really love the hollow point stuffed magazine for scale. Well done.

It's CrOx buffing compound that I neglected to clean off before I took the pictures. It has since been removed.

LOL... I thought it looked really cool. I was hoping it was some kind of blued washer :D

Lol. Maybe I'll take a sharpie marker to it and put the rings back on. ;)

So much for my 'good' eyes. Hehe

Excellent work, those scales look great. I have been thinking about cutting a razor down for detail work trimming around my beard.

So would you consider making another? :D Just the razor, I already have one of those hollow point display stands

That a realy nice razor, i love how you have made the lead and brass fit toghter with the smoke acrylic but on the same time its realy standing out. Although im not familiar with term "Coochie Razor" could you please be kind enough to explain it to me?

Beautiful work! I like it all. I know I told my wife she should try a str8 for her legs and the size of the blade is what scared her most. With one like this she might try it. Not sure she would use it for it's "intended" purpose but one step at a time. Great looking blade though.

I keep coming back to this thread to look at the cool scales. I'm about to start working on my first set of custom scales.

What is the thickness of the scales and how did you cut the material down?
