Mate , will ya need therapy if I tell you it walked on Sunday ? hehehe. Don't panic there's still a few jobs on the bench I'm tempted to keep the DD Dwarf.
Thanx. As it was not a customer's job, I didn't think to time it. I did it in bursts over a week but there were a few challenges like an asymmetric tang & using unfamiliar abrasives that stretched the time out more than usual.
Thanx G, I here them Dingleberries are mighty fine :D
That razor is a beauty. Great job.
Charlie
Very nice! That is some sweet looking horn! :)
Oz maetsro,
What a transformative metamorphosis :tu. Beautiful job on this beauty.
for me it looked better before mirrorpolishing. :D great craftmansship, but i dislike a mirror finish on such old blades.
I think you just bought a new razor ;) it looks great.
You can use vinegar baths or other dilute acids but I would practice a lot on scrap steel first as pitting is a very real risk.
A safer way is to use cold gun blueing cream or liquid which can be toned to a grey colour with metal polish.
This is the colour you can achieve with cold blueing.
