Wow, that's not a restoration! That's a rebirth! Amazing work.
Charlie
I SHOULD say this is really fake.
Can you believe what kinda a job you have done?
Makes us think that way?
Amazing.
Congratulations.
I actually already honed it (you might be able to see the bevel from the pics).
I initially used one layer of tape on the spine and after going to my bevel setter, the bevel came out too huge and I hated how it looked.
I took it back to 400 greaseless and up through rogues after that to erase the hone ware.
I then re-taped the spine with 3 layers of electrical tape, turned my chosera 1K on its side and went at it with rolling x-strokes. I had the new bevel set in 15 minutes and it looked considerably better.
I know you're joking, but it is indeed the same razor. Honestly I only spent about 30 minutes at 80 greaseless as under all that rust was hardly any pitting. I practiced a bit on some chipped blades as I actually wanted to do more of a Friodur worked spine where its beveled on each side. After 3 practice blades I realized that was too much of a challenge for my first dremel attempt and decided to go with what I have here.
Was expecting something hideous............dang that's nice man.

I don't know how many times you can say "HOLY CRAP".....but......
HOLY CRAP that is spectacular.
actually it makes me feel incompetent......
Beautifully done!
Just a question though, what bit did you use in the Dremel?
Bryce
There are great restores but this is in a new class called Transformations!
Very well done, :tu
How did you increase the size of that blade?
I wasn't planning to every try restoration, but this is one hell of an inspiration, I can tell you. Simply gorgeous work, my man.
