Not so Dwarven Duck
This is one I got on eBay a while back & put off doing anything with it as edge & blade faces were in such a sad state. Scales & tang weren't too bad tho.
Thought I kept some B4 pics but apparently not :gaah:
The thing that really struck me is the size this blade. Before any work, blade was a full 6/8" with a cutting edge approx 2.75" long. It's lost a whisker in width & I brought the heel forward a little but if that's a dwarf I'd like to see a Dubl Duck Giant :p
Anyhoo after satisfying myself that a bevel was possible. I decided to go minimalist & restore it with blade in place so it's original pins & all. There is still some minor pitting but edge is awesome as is the shave.

It looks great, well done

Looks good Oz. I still have never had the patience to do a restore without un-pinning. well done.

The state of the razor usually determines the process for me Grant. If the tangs all rusty I pop the pins.

'Beautiful work, Oz. That Dwarf looks similar to the Special #1. If it shaves like it, you're gonna be a happy guy. I read somewhere that the steel was Swedish on the spec.#1. I don't know if that's true for other Ducks, but whatever they did - the result is sure nice.

Thanx pl. I've always liked the #1's & the Dwarf shaves the same. Dunno about them being Swedish steel but lovin' the shaves most def :)

Great work, almost looks NOS. Loving that blued tang and square point. I have a few like that as its my favourite style by far.

Nice razors there Scipio. I think the blued tang is also very practical.
