Ancient History in Horn
Here are two more Old Ones heading home to our very own MisterA
The first is a Greaves Stub Tail, that was pretty beat on, in fact we wern't sure she was going to make it through... I did some polishing and got rid of all the "Crud" but did not re-grind to take away all her battle scars I think the razor came away with a nice clean shiny look but still carries her age well. Brand new all Black Buffalo horn scales and a Bone wedge all new hardware also... Gotta love the stamp "I Am Good, And Will, Shave Well"

The second one is another oldie but she was in near perfect condition other then the wooden scales that were stuck on there.. A Stub Tail Wostenholm, I only did a very light polishing on the steel, put her back in Black Horn by request very little streaking shows on the scales.. All new hardware in and out again...
All the horn was polished out to 12000 grit Micromesh then coated with Renwax...

I really like the period styling of the scales; I have a real soft spot for the old ones, and it's great to see these two ready for a few more centuries of service!
-
Glen you do wonderful work. I will have to select a razor to send and have you re-do. Perhaps a pair.
-
Nice work, keeping them real! I like them!!
-
Very nice work, I like them a lot. Those scales just look right on those blades,

Glen, as always...beautiful work. I like it to see what you create.

:yWow.. I'm speechless Glen. The Greaves was in soooooo bad shape when I sent it that I never really thought it could be brought back to life. I just thought I'd send it along with the two others so you could have a look at it. Now it not only looks like a completely different razor, but it looks pretty darn good. I knew the Wostenholm would turn out great, but still.. to see the result with the shape of the scales and all is just fantastic. These 2 and the Fenney you did completes my "Classic Sheffield Wedges" 7-day roll.. My most prized possession for sure :D

Nice work Glen! I'm fairly certain I saw that first Greaves several months back and if it is the same one - it instead was very beat up.
-
Glen, those both look really nice.
Is it me, or are the stamps on the greaves really deep? They look super cool.
-
Excellent job on both of them.
