Joseph Rodgers Original Restore
...Well almost original anyway.I picked this one up in an Antique Store in Sydney for $20, the blade would have looked great back in its day, but unfortunately the etching was half gone and beyond saving. I finished hand sanding this blade in December last year and planned to make new scales to replace the original warped ones. Then last week I decided to try straightening the originals and putting them back on. They flattened out quite nicely with some steam, they were sanded and then responded really well to some buffing.
I replaced the original lead wedge with a Midnight acrylic one, which looks very nice, the silver streaks kind of move as you tilt the razor, its pretty cool.
Stacked brass washers on brass pins.
I'm looking forward to honing this one up and shaving with it, my first Joseph Rodgers.
Cheers
Grant
