Love the little watch movement styled piece, I felt your first scale job was great creative wise but maybe a tad to large for the razor it held. This one looks perfect to me, also the computer is fantastic, is the little morse code looking contraption on the right a wireless mouse? I also am a huge fan of steam punk (golden compass was my favorite book growing up and still worth an occasional glance), although until earlier today I did not know it existed as a cultural phenomena I just recognized it as a great idea for fiction. I can't wait to see part three, maybe working gears? That rotate when opening and closing the razor?
Wonderfully different, playful and peculiar - I love those. Great job! Can't wait to see more.
I really like the look of your work but I keep having one reservation, From my understanding steampunk is modern things with a Victorian/steam powered theme. A straight doesn't fit this theme. A couple of weeks ago I bought a King DE with the ocillating blade and that would more fit into my vision of Steampunk. Or a Valet Autostrop with the gears etc. Keep the Steampunk out of it and I would be behind it 100%. Just my thoughts.

Im no pro steampunk guy, just an enthusaste so you could be right. If you check out the wikipedia link I posted or other articles I think you'll find that the genre has expanded to a sci fi world set in the victorian era. There are steampunk fashions, music etc. You'll find that just about every kind of object has been "retrofitted" to age of steam in this mythical world. "Steam" refers to the basis of the technology and the era and not so much as a definition of its objects. The classic example would be the ever present brass goggles that everyone wears which are not steam powered.
Anyway, like I said, hard core steampunk fans might roll their eyes at my "inventions." Its just a shaver's attempt to join in on the fun :)
Besides whose to say my razors aren't steam powered? !
Steampunk isn't so much modern things with a Victorian era power as much as it is things that would be seen as futuristic in the Victorian era. Usually it's either seen as an alternate reality where vertorian era culture and inventions ie steam, clockwork mechanisms, coal power, lighter than air flying craft survived and flourished to the modern day or where inventions in the late 1800s were much more high tech then they actually were ie Jules Vern. As i understand it tge straught could fit in rather well as it represents the victorian age it would just be more appropriate if paired with something more mordern in flavor. Another direction would be a steampunk fusion...but who wants to see a steampunk gilette fusion?
Very good old style design. Great work!
No offense taken Tim!
